Back to School Morning was a Success!!

Today was a hit!  I was able to meet almost all my kindergarteners!  I got to take all their pics with a frame I had made that said 1st day of Kindergarten!  They were all adorable!  Then I had them go on a treasure hunt around the room.  After, I read them The Carrot Seed and I had them become detectives and guess what was in my Detective Box.  (I forgot to take a picture, I will post tomorrow)  I game them clues. Yup, they guessed it!  Inside my box was a seed.  I showed them it was a flower seed.  We all planted our seeds inside our little plastic cups and had a blast singing ABC song and watering the seed.  Also, we so totally sang Tootie Ta!  It was a blast!!  Afterwards I gave them their 'ohfishally' in Kindergarten snack and sent them to play on the playground while I talked with the parents.  Overall it was a fab tab day in kindergarten!

Sweet gift from one of my little Kindergarteners today!

I love kindergarten.  Kiddos are so sweet and they are definitely excited to tell you all about themselves!!

One of the girls today gave me this cute Classroom saying.  I am going to keep it up all year!  I love it!

 Here is our calendar area.  Look at the cute frog!!  I love it!  We need to dress him for the weather!

 Here is our bare Word Wall.  Soon to have words!  So excited to teach the kiddos all the good words the need to know how to read!

 This is our first-term alphabet area with some of our class books.  We will have a different alphabet in our calendar area the second term.

This is our clean kitchen for dramatic play.  I am thinking about sewing some covers for maybe a different dramatic play area??  Post office, NASA center, etc??

Messy Kindergarten Room, Soon to be Clean......

 This is going to be the students table area.  I need to take off the old shapes in the middle of the table and place new ones.  You can see the computers and pulled out.  There are HOT electrical wires poking out of the wall.  AAAAHHHHH! Scary I know.  I totally told my kiddos about "This ONE kid I knew......"  Needless to say, they stayed away :)

 This wall you are looking at is the rug and calendar area.  Again another misplaced shelf because of the wiring.  Caution....  "I knew a kid once...."

So...  I got to school and it way worse than this.  It is coming along springingly. 

Then I found out that my electrical wiring in my room was not so awesome sauce.  Luckily, the school has an electrician doing some seriously needed labor to make it safe for my students and I to learn and play in. Tomorrow though I will have power and can turn on my computer.  Teacher = happy! 

Tomorrow I will be finishing the Calendar area, getting my keys, typing up my plans for Meet the teacher, finishing up my Letter of the days file folders, send out emails to the parents and mail a cute postcard to my kindergartens!

Oh, happy day!

My head is spinnin'!

Today I was notified that I will be teaching..... KINDERGARTEN!!!!!  YEAH!!!!  I am even more excited!  I get my own class and I get to teach KINDERGARTEN.  I have now changed the blog title three times. This morning I helped my (past) co teacher set up the 3rd grade room.  Now I get to do it all over again on Tuesday!  Anywho,  wow excitement, I will let you all know when I get my room.
